Palmer is a small town situated east of the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, along the Adelaide-Mannum Road, about 70 km from Adelaide and 15 km from Mannum. It is located in the Mid Murray Council local government area.
Today Palmer serves residents with a general store, hotel, school, church, CFS, transport businesses, decorative blacksmithing, secondhand store, oilskin manufacturers, sign writers and silos for the local cereal growing industry. Notable features include a primary school (opened 1882), Lutheran Church, and the Granite Boulders Area Geological Site with distinctive rock formations.
