Set in the picturesque Upper Murray district with Cudgewa Creek flowing through a wide valley, the town features historic war memorials, a heritage-listed railway trestle bridge, churches, a hotel, and a recreation reserve. The name derives from an Aboriginal word describing a kangaroo skin.
