Zeehan, once known as "Silver City," was Tasmania's third-largest settlement during its mining heyday and is now essentially a living museum. Located in Tasmania's west coast, this historic town showcases remarkable architecture from its boom period.

The West Coast Heritage Centre and Pioneers Museum features indigenous, pioneering and mining displays, plus one of the world's greatest mineral collections. Modern attractions include the restored Gaiety Theatre, Spray Tunnel, Mount Zeehan, trout fishing at Lake Pieman, and the Silver City Mountain Bike Trails.

Zeehan is accessible by car, located just over 3 hours drive from Launceston or just over 2 hours from Devonport. Public bus services operate 7 days a week between Strahan, Queenstown and Burnie via Zeehan, Rosebery and Tullah, with additional services between Queenstown and Hobart via Derwent Bridge on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The main routes are the Murchison Highway and Zeehan Highway, which are currently being upgraded as part of government road improvement programs to enhance safety and reduce travel times.
