Situated at 1,330 metres above sea level, Guyra is the highest town in the New England High Country, located on the Northern Tablelands between Armidale and Glen Innes.
Known for its cold winters and pretty snowfalls, the town offers excellent outdoor activities including rock climbing, horse riding, mountain biking, trout fishing in pristine streams, and birdwatching in protected wetlands.
Guyra is also home to the largest glasshouse in the southern hemisphere, producing horticulture and truss tomatoes, alongside its traditional potato and lamb industries.

Guyra is just over six hours' drive from Sydney via the New England Highway and 30 minutes from Armidale. NSW Trainlink operates a coach service between Tenterfield and Armidale, with coaches stopping near Guyra Post Office to connect with long-distance trains to Sydney. The whole journey by train and coach takes around nine hours.
Visitors can also fly into nearby Armidale Airport. Private transport is the most convenient way to explore Guyra and the surrounding district.
