Albion Hotel Hotel was established in 1869 and rebuilt in 1889. There was an under ground tunnel leading to a bank that was used for gold transfers. Belinda reports that the Hotel burn't down in Feb 2009 however it was not due to the Bushfires....

Forbes is a historic town nestled on the Lachlan River in the heart of the Lachlan Valley, renowned for its magnificent 19th-century heritage buildings set alongside gorgeous riverbanks and leafy parks.

Forbes can be reached by bus from Sydney's Central Station via Orange Station in around 7 hours 22 minutes. Alternatively, Transport for NSW operates train services from Central Station to nearby Parkes Station twice weekly, with tickets costing $6-16 and journey time of 6 hours 31 minutes. From Melbourne, coach services are available via Gundagai and Cootamundra, taking approximately 11 hours including transfers.
The town is also accessible by car via the Newell Highway, making it a convenient stop for travelers exploring Central West NSW.
