Red Cliffs lies west of the Murray River, at the northern end of Victoria's Mallee region in Sunraysia, characterized by a Mediterranean climate of dry summers and mild winters. This historic town, 14km south of Mildura, was established as Australia's largest soldier settlement after World War I when over 700 returning soldiers were offered 15 acres each to plant grapevines for sultana production.
Today it's known for its agricultural heritage, featuring vineyards and citrus farms, plus attractions like the famous Big Lizzie land-clearing machine and scenic river cliffs offering panoramic Murray River views.
