Wentworth is a small border town in far southwest New South Wales, situated at the confluence of the Darling and Murray rivers. Once Australia's busiest inland port following the construction of a wharf in 1860, this historic town is now the gateway to Outback NSW.
It lies 34 kilometres west of Mildura, Victoria, and offers visitors a glimpse into Australia's river trade heritage alongside natural attractions like the ancient Perry Sandhills.

Wentworth is 12 hours' drive from Sydney and six hours from Melbourne, making it ideal for a multi-day road trip. You can fly into Mildura Airport and rent a car for the 30-minute drive northeast. It's also the start or finish for the Darling River Run, a four-day road trip through the NSW Outback.
The town is approximately 265 km from Broken Hill and 400 km east of Adelaide.
