Genoa is a small town in Eastern Gippsland, Victoria, located close to the New South Wales border where the Princes Highway crosses the Genoa River. With a population of just 66 as of the 2021 census, this tiny community serves as an important access point to the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of Croajingolong National Park.
The area holds historical significance, as the earliest fossil trackway of primitive tetrapods dating back 350 million years was discovered in the Genoa River Gorge in 1972.
