Homebush is a small rural locality in the Mackay Region of Queensland, situated approximately 20 kilometres southwest of Mackay among expansive sugarcane fields. This historic settlement dates back to 1867 when it was established as a pastoral run.

The town once thrived around the Colonial Sugar Refinery mill which operated from 1883 to 1921. Today, Homebush retains its agricultural character and is best known for the heritage-listed General Gordon Hotel, established in 1886, which stands as an iconic two-story Queenslander pub surrounded by scenic cane country.

Homebush is located approximately 20 kilometers south of Mackay's CBD. Mackay Airport receives daily flights from Brisbane and is located 5 kilometers south of the city center. Queensland Rail serves Mackay via its train network, with Qantas and Jetstar operating frequent flights from Brisbane, while Qantaslink connects to Cairns, Townsville, and Rockhampton.

To reach Homebush, travel south on the Bruce Highway from Mackay for about 12 kilometers, then turn onto Homebush Road and continue for a further 7 kilometres through the cane fields.
