Nabiac is a charming village situated on the Wallamba River on the Barrington Coast of New South Wales, 24 kilometres south of Taree and 25 kilometres west of Forster Tuncurry.
Nabiac means 'place of the wild fig' and lies between lands once inhabited by the Biripi and Worimi Aboriginal Tribes. Since the Pacific Highway was relocated through the town in the mid-1950s, Nabiac has steadily become more of a highway service town and tourist stopping point. The town offers beautiful river scenery and serves surrounding rural communities.
