Gravesend is a small village on the North West Slopes of New South Wales, located 25 kilometres west of Warialda on the Gwydir Highway near the Gwydir River. Originally a fettlers' camp established around 1900 with the arrival of the railway, the village was officially named in 1909.
The community features a historic railway bridge imported from England, a general store, hotel, Historical Society Museum, and recreation grounds. The surrounding Gwydir River offers excellent fishing, camping, and swimming opportunities.
