Wallangarra is a rural border town in Queensland's Southern Downs Region, situated 258 kilometres southwest of Brisbane at an elevation of 878 metres.
The town is famous for its historic railway station built astride the Queensland-New South Wales border in 1887, with each side reflecting the different railway gauges used by the two states. Now operating as a museum, the station showcases the colonial rivalries of pre-Federation Australia. Wallangarra is Queensland's coldest town by mean maximum temperature and is surrounded by spectacular granite country, bounded by Sundown and Girraween National Parks.
