The Cooyar Hotel was established in 1903. Originally there were 3 pubs in town when the Timber Industry was strong in the Area. A local Pub burnt down in 1935 and it may have been this one. Not sure. But glad the Cooyar survived so far because it's a top Pub. The Rooms are almost finished being renovated and are some of the best we have seen. Beautifuly furnished, nice and large. The Locals love a chat. Say G'day to George. He knows everything about the area.

What a great country town and Pub. Friday night is Flip Club night.

The camping area behind the Pub is the best Platypus viewing area in SE Qld. Look from the Swinging Bridge.
