Today, Wombat is renowned for its cherry production and pick-your-own fruit experiences, where visitors can harvest cherries, peaches and sugar plums in season. The small rural community maintains its historic gold mining heritage with living history displays, offering visitors a glimpse into Australia's colonial past.
