First licensed on the 8th December 1896 and officially opened on 31st December 1896. The original building was transported by camel train dismantled from Mt Freeling.

Burn't down on the 13th January 1988 when a gas cylinder exploded. A new building was transported by road train to Lyndhurst from Moomba and rebuilt on the original hotel site. Part of the original fire place still remains today.

The Pub officially reopened on the 9th July 1988
