Former Emu Hotel

Former Emu Hotel

Was known as the Buffalo Hotel when I used to have a few beers there.

The pub closed in c1976 and the licence was transferred to the AMP Building at Circular Quay.

The Licencee in 1913 was Alfred J. Loomes and the licencee before him was W.R. Loomes. He complained to the Sydney Municipal Council that the gas light outside of the hotel was not bright enough. - Jon Graham

It is said that WJ Loomes had a heart attack on the verandah of the Emu Inn while watch a funeral at the Morturay Station. - Sharron, granddaughter
