Dianna by the Pond The Bar Maidens at the Golden Age are Dianna, Roman Goddess of hunting, and a friend. As a local described it includes a "brilliant detailed depiction of a dogs arse" ( left)

Golden Age Hotel, Gympie


The Golden Age (left 1868 and right 1880,s). As Gympie seems to have had the oldest Pubs in Qld, (licensed that is) and the first Gympie set of licenses were issued in 1868, that would make the photo on the left the oldest photo of a Queensland Pub. Again we are referring to licensed pubs. Unlicensed Shanty or tent pubs existed before this time. Probably still do.
