The hotel was established in 1882.
Jan - 2011 - "This Pub is recently being renovated but the new owner is trying to keep some of the historical aspects.
It was an old Cobb & Co (Staging Post?). I have placed circles on the photo (check photo 2) to show the original gudgeons from the gates in the entry. If you zoom in you can see them clearly.
As you walk in the main entry, the flooring is cobblestoned, which was the original driveway through which the Coach was driven to reach the stables in the rear.
As you go through this area, there is a small narrow opening in the brickwork (possibly boarded up now) which was the ticket office." - Jamjen
