The attached Photo of Calman's Royal Oak Hotel apparently stood on the site of the present Cootamundra Hotel.

Judging by the signage, probably a Tooths Brewery Pub.
In those days there was nothing like a photo opportunity to clear the bar and get everyone out the front of the Pub.
Interesting to see the New Coota Pub copied some of the style of the facade. Thanks for that.

Wondered if you would pick up on that. There is some speculation that they used part of the old pub but the local history society have not been able to prove it one way or another.

As far as I could find out the Royal ceased trading in 1999,I'm not sure who the last owners were.The licence was transferred to Sydney for the Olympic games along with many other licences from country pubs.The Royal began trading in 1876. - Steve and Karen
