Tragedy Strikes Travellers Rest Hotel Thorpdale

Tragedy struck the Travellers Rest Hotel in Thorpdale, Victoria on 4th April 2017 when it went up in flames in the middle of the night and took the life of the local publican John Bantock.

The pub had been owned by members of the same family for more than 100 years. Mr Bantock, in his 60s, inherited the pub from his father, Frank, and worked and lived on the premises.
