The Hotel reopened circa 2013. The Publican lays claim that it is still the oldest Pub in Australia as the license was kept going even though the Pub was closed for a time.

- Hotel established on 25th July 1807 as the Whale Fishery Hotel.

Ed. It was originally built as a Timberboard Hotel

Rebuilt as present building in 1815 to 1817. Had been operating in present building since. Trading may have been interrupted at time but was under the same license.

At 17/10/2007 its future is uncertain. May not reopen. Magnificent decor and furnishing. There is a video on their website.
