The Hotel was established in 1880 as the Bank Hotel. It has never had a name change. The hotel was closed recently for 18-24 months for major renovations. The Hotel is situated in the heart of Newtown next to Newtown Bridge.

Coopers Hotel
The Hotel was established c1869 as the Shakespeare Hotel. The name was changed to the Coopers Arms Hotel in the 1990's and again to the Coopers Hotel c2006. Extensive renovations have been carried out recently.
The front part of the roof has been removed and a dining bistro and bar installed. Very impressive (and expensive) renovations. The bistro was very popular on Sunday- Jon

The Hotel was established in 1887 as the Club Hotel, renamed The Rudolf Hotel in 1896, Rugby Hotel in 1900 and the Newtown Hotel in the 1940?
Feb 2011 - "Hey mate. Just letting you know that the Newtown Hotel has reopened for a while as Freaky Tiki.
I went there last Friday night, and actually it wasnt toooo bad. Full of younglings (Im 42), but no Meatheads, or Toffs for that matter.

2008 - The Hotel was the premier gay hotel of Newtown until it was suddenly closed on Saturday 03/11/2007 due to a licensing issue.
The issue is still to go before the courts. We will advise on the site if we hear the Hotel is able to reopen.

Kelly's on King Hotel
The hotel was established in 1859 as the Cottage of Content Hotel and was renamed The Cricketer's Arms Hotel in 1875. The hotel closed in the late 1970's and it became a McDonalds outlet until closing in the mid 1990's.
The hotel was reopened on Thursday 16th September 1999 as Kelly's on King Hotel. The license to reopen the pub was transferred from the former Royal Edward Hotel.

The Hotel was established in 1891 as the as the Frankfurt and Frankfurt Park. with James Fay being the first Publican.
It was renamed the Frankfort Park Hotel in 1894, United Hotel 1900 and the United Australia Hotel in 1910. It has also been known as the St. Peters Inn.

The hotel has recently been refurbished.

Corner of Eliza Street. The hotel was established as the Daniel Webster Hotel in 1863 and was renamed the Oxford Hotel in 1875 and them the Oxford Tavern in the 1980's.
The Hotel was fully refurbished c2001-2 with an African theme and was renamed the ZanziBar Newtown.
