Port Campbell Seaside Resort

Port Campbell has a somewhat unique way of launching fishing boats from its Jetty. Fishermen back their truck/boat trailers down onto the jetty, and then winch their boats down into the water. The tide here can move some 15 feet, but that's not the issue - the waves/swell can be that much again.

On a really stormy night though, you can still see some of the locals taking it in their stride to just 'go fishin'!

The town has a number of modern shops, heaps of accommodation and is has a great squared off beach cutting of some size, making it an ideal seaside resort for summer frolicking on the sand - and of course, an ideal place to sit back and enjoy an ale at the local pub at the end of the day with friends and family.

Port Campbell is one of Gaz's highly recommended stress relief destinations to wind down in, and the long time original Southern Ocean Motor Inn right opposite the jetty is still a top little place to stay! Tell Michael, the proprietor, that Gaz sent you, and then stroll up the length of the town to enjoy the hospitality of the Port Campbell Hotel.
