From the the Pubs Website:
"With the picturesque, now dormant volcano, Mount Schank, as its backdrop, the Bellum Hotel is a traditional country pub surrounded by lush farmland.
Renowned for good hearty food and a great atmosphere, the licensees and hosts are Simon Livingstone and wife Lisa Edwards; the great, great, great grand daughter of the man who originally built the hotel, and who became the first licencee way back in 1866."

Mount Schank is a prominent volcanic cone located 17 kilometres south of Mount Gambier and also a small settlement.
The volcano is thought to be the youngest in Australia and is not classified as extinct.
