Former Dora Dora Hotel

The Dora Dora Pub was built more than 125 years ago, so it must be at least 150 years old now. The pub was delicenced in 1998. On the road between Talmalmo and Woomargama. Hotel closed in 1998

"Children play on the old relic in front of the Dora Dora Hotel at Talmalmo, on the headwaters of the Murray River in NSW. Built more than 125 years ago, it has a magnificent view of a beautiful valley spoilt only by an ugly telephone exchange. When asked why the exchange was place directly in front of the pub, a local grazier drawled, 'If you were waiting for it as long as we were, you wouldn't care were they put it.'

Former Dora Dora Hotel

My family camped alongside the Murray river and frequented the Dora Dora for six weeks of the summer holidays for over 15 years between the years of 1969 – 1984. In these photos is Alf behind the bar

Former Dora Dora Hotel

'This bar in the Dora Dora Hotel at Talmalmo is one of the nicest and most interesting places in which we drank. Its amazing collection of artefacts is being added to daily, and people come from far and wide to experience the fine hospitality of its wonderful hosts. Mrs Wright is wearing the top hat.' At the Dora Dora Hotel at Talmalmo NSW,

'Mrs. Wright wears one of her many faces. Not only is there a wonderful atmosphere and fascination in this hotel, but Alf and his wife amuse customers by disappearing and reappearing wearing different masks. There is a good feeling in this hotel , and strangers are not strangers for long.'
