The Railway Hotel was opened in 1911, replacing the Railway Arms Hotel which was established next door in 1878. Patrick Lohan was the publican from 1878 until 1910.

Was known as the Whistlestop Tavern untill 2009/10 when the name was changed back to the Railway Hotel.
